How To Stop Gambling Tip #5 Eat Well and Exercise

How To Stop Gambling Tip #5

This is the continuation in my series of tips on how to stop gambling. Just to review, here

are the first five tips on how to stop gambling:

1. Decide that you want to stop gambling after admitting that you do indeed have a gambling

problem and that it has disrupted your life.

2. Each day you wake up, make a decision on that given day that you will not gamble, since

you already made a decision to quit gambling.

3. Plan your day around your decision to stopping gambling. Make sure that you plan your

schedule in 15 minute increments as this really does help.

4. Join a support group such as Gamblers Anonymous to help you on your mission to continue to

quit gambling.

Tip #5, as one of your solutions to stop gambling is as follows:

Embark in a good health and nutrition program in addition to a good exercise plan. Commit to

good eating and exercise daily as this will not only help your physical health, but will

improve your mood as well.

When we eat nutritious foods and exercise, we are showing ourselves that we care about our

health. When we care about our health we will be more apt to do things that are good for us

and not destructive and harmful.

When you quit gambling it may be hard to suddenly jump into a really strong nutrition and

exercise plan.

My suggestion to you is to make small changes in your eating and exercise behavior on a daily

basis. For example, add a salad to your lunch and try to eliminate the fast foods you were

consuming daily.

You can even try to add a daily walk to your routine.. even if it is only 5 minutes. You can

then increase this over time.

When you stop gambling, replacing unhealthy behaviors of eating and lack of exercise will

provide a great benefit to you.

After you quit gambling, you will see that better eating and an exercise plan will contribute

positively to your health.

As stated previously, as you do good things for yourself, you will be less apt to do harmful

and destructive things like gambling.

This will most certainly help keep you focuses on your decision to change your life by stop

gambling.

How To Stop Gambling Tips Part 4

How To Stop Gambling Tips Part 4

This is the next section of my series on how to stop gambling tips. Just to review the
first 3 tips.

Stop Gambling Tip #1: Admit that you have a gambling problem first, and make the decision to

want to stop gambling.

Stop Gambling Tip #2: Make a decision each morning that you will not gamble that day.

Remember, you have decided to stop gambling, and each morning you need to remind yourself of

this.

Stop Gambling Tip #3: Plan out your day, in 15 minute increments if you have to. Stick to

your schedule rigidly. Make sure all waking hours are covered.

In stop gambling tip #4, you want to look into a support group that will assist you in your

decision to quit gambling. Gamblers Anonymous is a good place to start, and there will most

likely be at least a few Gamblers Anonymous groups in your nearby area.

Why would you need a support group to help you stop gambling? For one, many of the Gamblers

Anonymous veterans have learned how to stop gambling over time, and are living proof that

life is better after you quit gambling.

Secondly, many people benefit from a group setting and can help themselves better with the

support of a group. Although stopping gambling can be done alone through a strong conviction

and good self-help program, group support can be a welcome addition to your treatment plan.

Thirdly, there is accountability to others besides yourself after you join a Gamblers

Anonymous 12 Step program. You will know that if you go back to gambling after you quit

gambling that you will need to let your group members know. This can deter you from a

gambling addiction relapse because you will not only not want to dissapoint yourself, but

disappoint the group as well.

I need to state, however, that if you return to gambling after you stop gambling that the

Gamblers Anonymous support group is still very accepting of you when you come back to a

meeting.

This 12 step group does not encourage a return to gambling, however, the group members want

you go go back to a meeting without feeling judged so you can continue in your mission to

quit gambling.

Group support is truly important as a tip in how to stop gambling. Remember that self-help as

well as group help is really a powerful combination and should definitely be considered as

one of your solutions to stop gambling.
